“The previously planned tour has now been postponed to June and July. We plan to tour in a lot of cities this time. I hope the pandemic can get better soon because I look forward to the tour. Other than a tour, I have also been writing new songs later, hoping to record by the end of the year and then release the new album next year.”
As 90’s babies, they have lived through a period of rapid development and are left feeling numb. To them, crowds of people feel like tall blades of grass conforming to the motion of the wind. Being able to form their own ideas embodies the indie spirit. The band describes the meaning of this spirit:
“Wake Up Song” is about the day of my 20th birthday last year. When I was 17, I went to the Beijing Modern Conservatory of Music and when I first arrived, basically 90% of the students around me did popular music while only a few people focused on indie music. So, at that time it was difficult to meet people who shared common interests as me. Since high school, I told myself to always be myself, and when I got to college, what was “myself” became more blurred. This song was written to remind me to stop wasting time hahaha.”
“When I moved to Beijing, I needed to be surer than ever about what I liked and what direction I wanted to go. However, I could not avoid the influence of certain external factors, therefore I wrote this song to warn myself about these influences.”
Ping San, Long Long, and Cong Cong have dreamt of futures since their high school years. Ping San and Cong Cong have known each other for more than ten years. Ever since the beginning of their friendship, they played music, practiced calligraphy, and went to temples together. Also a dreamer, bassist Liu Yabo prefers silence and exhibits a safe, reliable character.
“We are all dreaming about what seems to be unrealistic and unachievable, but that is because it is dreaming after all. Therefore, we are Spring is Coming.”
