Tiny cut showing everyday on my body
Barely remember when it faded, exposed without signs
No pain needs to be suffered
Minor panics break the glass
I know I’m growing up I know I’ll clear it up
I give them minimum love, exposed without signs
An odd silence doesn’t drift away
I know I’m growing up know I’m growing up
"Minimum Love'' comes from Cephalosis's second album "Spring Styx". The songs in "Spring Styx'' were all created in 2019, and they make Cephalosis’s music sound more specific and absolute. The influence of this album mainly comes from Kurosawa Akira's Japanese-style movie "wood" soundtrack, a small amount of Nordic "Second II" black metal, Jerusalem, and the rejection of the other world. Scenes that sound grandiose, and the intense progress of the clips are all imagination of hers. They are isolated in their own realm, not even related to their daily life, and it is difficult to resonate with others. But the absolute visionary world they imagined may have appeared in everyone's heart.
“I really don't know what the reason is. I often see small and fresh wounds on my arms or hands. It may be a problem with my hands' exercise habits. Although they will not cause me any trouble, every time I find them, there will be a feeling of vulnerability and compassion. The appearance of these wounds is like a reminder of existence, and I have always coexisted with it with the minimum of love.”
Cephalosis was a Kunming based band that was established at the end of 2016, which consists of two members, Li Hao and Hu Jie. They both like the same type of music: European industrial, dark ambient and underground electronic music which make Cephalosis become who it is now. They signed to Ruby Eyes Records in 2017 and released their debut album Voluntary Ambition in January 2019. They followed with Spring Styx in 2020, a more powerful and firmer record than last one. Cephalosis is inactive and obscure, changing in a way they expect.
For a long time, this project was just an oral agreement between Li Hao and Asuka, and the music was also chaotic. The band originally planned to make cold-hearted music, but after all, they are not cold-hearted people. If they have to list a concrete style, they can probably be classified as cold wave, synth-pop and post-industrial, but everything is changing. Cephalosis finally gave up their chaotic status, Will have a more determined voice.
Since launching in late 2016, Cephalosis has become a mystery and barely appears to the audience's eyes, but if you happen to attend one of their few shows, you'll be impressed by the Kunming-based duo Coldwave. In September 2017, the two members of the band selected nine songs from their old works and went to a bar next door in Yiwu twice to ask recording engineer Li Ping to record their first album, Voluntary Ambition, which was released on Jan 8, 2019.
