“THE SIGN OF HUMAN” is an underground band based in Taipei, Taiwan. The group was founded in 2011 and takes its name from a fictional profession from Japanese writer Haruki Murakami's novel "Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World."

The title of their most recent song (An Iceberg 《一座冰山》) is inspired by an Icelandic film "Noi the Albino." The film tells the story of a young man who has lived in Iceland all his life and wants to escape from that place, where the nights are longer than the days, to live on a tropical island.

Although many strange things happen in the course of the film, the local people are accustomed to these peculiarities. And so, the inspiration of the lyrics comes from this movie. Born in subtropical Taiwan, the band similarly faces the changes in the environment that others may think are good, while in reality can be quite painful losses.
