The Peppercorns was founded in early 2016 in Beijing, China, and is the only art rock band in country.
The band was influenced by progressive rock and art rock from the 1960s and 1970s. Their music style is willful and extravagant and emulates the refined nature of a classical art sculpture.
The Peppercorns’s music features theremin (an electronic instrument) and electric guitars, which, when combined, have a healing power like medicine. It is said that their music “melts” flavorfully in the mouth.
Their new album " Upstream the Echo" 《洄响集》 debuted in Beijing’s DDC in September last year and later launched on various music platforms on May 21 of this year.
"Upstream the Echo" 《洄响集》 was inspired by the Greek mythological story of Echo and Narcissus, from which the term 'narcissism' is derived, as well as the concept of palindromes.

Shouting Nerd was founded in 2011 as an independent rock band in Beijing. All of the members were born after ’93, with the youngest member born in 1997. In 2013, the band took a pause when some members went abroad to study abroad. However, by fall of 2017, all of the members returned to China to officially start their band career.
The "大叫" (“Shouting”) part of the name represents the most direct way of expression, and "控" (“Nerd”) is about control and staying grounded. Just like the name of the band, Shouting Nerd’s music strives to represent the emotions and society of the younger generation.
In 2019, the band's first studio album "Airplane Mode Make Me High" was released. In 2020, the "Airplane Mode" album tour began nationwide in China.
